Let’s face it – we can’t always make it to workout classes or to the gym. Whether you’re traveling for work, out of town on vacation, or just crazy busy with life, there are some days when you just need some good workouts to do from your living room. Here are a few of my favorites – mostly bodyweight training, which is great when you’re traveling and don’t have access to equipment! 🙂
Legs & Glutes – Tone It Up has my absolute favorite routines for this area. Personally, I think the best is their Lift & Tone routine. My legs always feel awesome after doing this one.
Abs & Core – Holy cow! Who knew that planks could be so demanding? This Plank Variation routine from Xhit Daily is absolutely ridiculous. I have a really strong core and even I couldn’t make it through this entire thing the first time I tried it. The next day, I woke up with some sore muscles that I didn’t even know existed!
Full Body – There seems to be this crazy misconception out there that yoga is “easy” or that it is “just stretching”. Whoever spread that around obviously never tried Jillian Michaels’ Yoga Meltdown. It seriously will kick your butt. You might finish this and feel like you never want to workout again. However, I can almost guarantee that the next morning you’re going to wake up and want to give it another shot! The awesome part is that she gives beginner and advanced variations of poses, so you don’t need to feel intimidated or like you’re not good enough for yoga – yoga is for everyone!
ps. this is my killer view when I workout at home. can’t beat it!
